SANFORD — Funeral service for Leonard Newton Gunter, 80, of 109 Asbury Church Road, who died Sunday (5/3/09), was conducted Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Burns and the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating.

Burial followed in the church cemetery. The flag was folded by Renny Kremer and Malcolm Greer.Pianist and organist was Donna Phillips. Soloist was Karen Bullock. Guitarist was Zach Hinnant. The Asbury United Methodist Church Choir sang. Soloist at the graveside was Van Johnson. Taps was played by trumpeter, Nathan Bright.Pallbearers were Joe Bullock, Adam Gunter, Evan Gunter, Travis Gunter, Mickey Woodard and Zach Hinnant. Honorary pallbearers were the Rev. Bobby Tyson, the Methodist Men of Asbury Church, the Numa Bright Sunday school class, James Gordon, Renny Kremer, Doug Gunter and Ronnie Gunter.Arrangements were by Bridges-Cameron Funeral Home, Inc. of Sanford.
